What office space in City Hall costs

City Hall, Singapore's Civic District

The district takes its name from the old City Hall building on the Padang. That building and the former Supreme Court next to it are now the National Gallery, and the Capitol Singapore development joined its 1930 theatre to a new mall, Capitol Piazza, in 2015. The offices we price sit among these landmarks, with Parliament House a short walk away.

Suntec City is the district's modern side: five office towers finished between 1995 and 1997 around the Fountain of Wealth, with a mall and the convention centre underneath. The centres we price sit in Suntec Tower One, Suntec Tower Two, Suntec Tower 3 and Suntec Tower 5, among others.

Closer to the station, the centres we price include 75 High Street by the river, Beach Centre, 109 North Bridge and Marina Square on the waterfront side, among others. Tell us the size of your team and we will show you the best of them in one visit.

Getting to your City Hall office by MRT

City Hall station carries the North South line and the East West line, and the change between them is across a single platform. It opened in December 1987 and sits under Stamford Road, beside Raffles City.

The Suntec towers and Marina Square are further from the station, so Citylink Mall runs underground from City Hall to both, and the whole walk stays indoors. Esplanade station on the Circle line covers that end of the district. For the airport, take the East West line to Tanah Merah and change; the ride takes about 35 minutes.

Who City Hall suits

City Hall suits a team that comes from all over the island. Two MRT lines cross under the district, and the Circle line at Esplanade is a sheltered walk from the Suntec end.

It suits a team that wants everything close. The station, three malls, hotels and the convention centre sit within minutes of each other, and much of it joins up underground.

It suits a team that hosts visitors. The hotels at Raffles City and around Marina Square take care of guests, and Suntec's meeting and event space handles the days your own office cannot.

One thing to check before you come is the price. A serviced office here averages about S$630 per person a month, with the centres we price asking between S$420 and S$821.

The tradeoff of an office in City Hall

City Hall runs on office hours and mall hours. Lunch is easy, with food courts and restaurants in every direction, but the area quiets down once the shops close. Weekends draw more museum visitors than office workers. The streets around the Padang are stately rather than lively, and most teams take the connections and accept the calm.
