Who Indy By Industrious Are

Indy is the second brand of Industrious, the American operator founded by Jamie Hodari, which opened its first centre in Chicago in 2013. Indy itself started in Austin, Texas in September 2024, and has since opened in Denver, Manhattan, Berlin and London.

Sheung Wan is the first Indy anywhere in Asia Pacific. It opened on 15 September 2026. Industrious says the wider group now runs more than 250 locations in over 80 cities.

For a tenant, that means the room is the point. Indy puts the money into private offices, meeting rooms and staff on the floor. An Indy membership still opens the door at the 250 or so Industrious buildings elsewhere.

Where They Are In Hong Kong

One address: Levels 12, 13, 15 and 16 of The Chelsea, 69 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan. Jervois Street is the old Sheung Wan grid, two streets back from the harbour front.

The Chelsea was finished in 1998 and is 34 storeys, with offices from 7/F to 34/F and about 102,000 square feet in total. Floors are small and column free, 3,780 to 4,100 square feet each, with ceilings up to 3.3 metres and glass on two sides. Three passenger lifts serve the building. The lift core and the washrooms sit on one side of each floor, and the car park holds 29 spaces. The landlord refurbished it in late 2020, so the lift lobbies are marble and wood panel, and there is a tenants' lounge.

At street level the building has shops and food, and Jervois Street around it is coffee shops and noodle shops. The dried seafood and herbal medicine trade still runs along Des Voeux Road West.

Sheung Wan MTR Exit A2 is a three minute walk, and Central is the next station, one stop east.

What The Spaces Are Like

The floors are small, about 4,000 square feet each. The offices are bright and plainly built for focus, with executive standard ergonomic furniture. Meeting rooms come in several sizes across the four levels, and the shared areas are laid out for people to meet each other. There is a monthly member breakfast and a social evening.

Indy by Industrious is very good at providing:

**Fifty private rooms in one building.** Four small floors hold about 50 offices and more than 200 workstations. A growing team can take a second room upstairs without changing address.

**A membership that travels.** An Indy contract carries access to the wider Industrious network of 250 or so locations in more than 80 cities. That matters if your team flies.

**A parking space on request.** Dedicated parking can be arranged for members, from a car park of 29 spaces, which is rare this close to Central.

What Indy By Industrious Costs

A seat in a private office is HK$5,000 a month at The Chelsea, and a room for four is HK$20,000 a month. Coworking space is sold on the same floors at HK$2,700 per person per month.

The minimum term is three months, rather than the three year lease a conventional office needs. The deposit is two months and the notice period is three months.

Who Indy By Industrious Suits

Indy suits small teams who want a well built private room beside Central. The floors are small, so a team of thirty will sit on more than one level.

That is a wide group: independent consultants, hybrid workers, startups, and small and medium firms of every kind. Mainland China and Asia Pacific companies opening a first Hong Kong office take rooms here too.

It also suits teams of two to ten who expect to add one or two more people. There are about 50 rooms in the building, so growing does not mean moving.
