Where They Are In Hong Kong

Four buildings, one street, one district. Wong Chuk Hang sits on the south side of Hong Kong Island, two stops from Admiralty on the South Island line.

Wong Chuk Hang station Exit B runs under the road and across a footbridge into the old industrial blocks. Every address is a five to eight minute walk from there.

Victory Factory Building, 16 Wong Chuk Hang Road, has twelve storeys. V-Workshop keeps the ground floor reception here, with units on the second, fourth, sixth and eighth floors. The sky garden is on the fourth.

Vita Tower, 29 Wong Chuk Hang Road, is the tall one: twenty five storeys, finished in 1981, with two passenger lifts and six cargo lifts. The units are on the twentieth floor and look out across the district.

Heung Wah Industrial Building, 12 Wong Chuk Hang Road, has twenty three storeys and dates from 1975. It stands opposite a bus terminus, and the high floors look back at the hillside.

Po Chai Industrial Building, 28 Wong Chuk Hang Road, has fifteen storeys and also dates from 1975. The units are on the second floor.

Wong Chuk Hang changed when the MTR reached it on 28 December 2016. More than twenty galleries now work out of these same factory blocks, alongside design studios, bars and restaurants.

What The Spaces Are Like

Renovated industrial floors, wide corridors, tables and chairs in the hallways, and a pantry with a fridge, a microwave and drinking water. Units are bright, with wide windows. The lifts are built for freight and the loading bay is marked, because most tenants move things in and out.

Every building comes with 24 hour high-speed wifi, a furnished reception and common areas, and regular maintenance. Victory Factory Building adds camera surveillance around the clock, a reception on each floor, and it takes pets.

**Stock and work in one room.** The product is a workshop or a studio first and an office second. The room that holds your team also holds your inventory, your kit or your kiln. An online seller paying for a room in one place and a storage unit in another can stop doing that.

**A sky garden on the fourth floor.** About 2,000 square feet of outdoor terrace at Victory Factory Building, with seating and umbrellas. Outdoor space is rare in Hong Kong flexible offices, and this one is a floor or two from your unit.

**Lifts that take a pallet.** Vita Tower runs six cargo lifts against two passenger lifts, with a marked loading and unloading area below. If your week involves deliveries, couriers or a camera trolley, that ratio is worth more than a smart entrance.

Two buildings carry proper kitchens. Po Chai Industrial Building has a stove, a fridge, a dining area and high tables, with a conference room and a showroom bookable next door. Victory Factory Building has a function room with an oven, a hot plate, a fridge and a flat screen.

What V-Workshop And Storage Costs

A seat in a private office is HK$2,300 a month, and it is HK$2,300 at all four buildings. Nothing is added for the address, so choosing between them is a question of the floor, the view and the lift rather than the rent.

A room for four is HK$9,200 a month, again the same figure in all four buildings.

Every unit is private, with its own door and its own lock.

Meeting rooms are booked as you need them. Po Chai Industrial Building has a conference room and a showroom next door, and Victory Factory Building has a function room with a kitchen.

The minimum term is three months, rather than the three year lease a conventional office needs. The deposit is two months and the notice period is three months.
