Who Industrious Are

Industrious was founded in the United States by Jamie Hodari and opened its first centre in Chicago in 2013. The head office is in New York, and it is part of one of the largest property services companies in the world.

Industrious says it now runs more than 250 locations in over 80 cities. The Hong Kong centre opened in April 2019 as The Great Room, a Singapore founded brand, and took the Industrious name on 1 July 2026. The team that opened it still runs it.

For a tenant, that means two practical things. Your membership works in 250 or so buildings when you travel. And the service on the floor comes from people trained in hospitality rather than in property management.

Where They Are In Hong Kong

One address: Level 23, One Taikoo Place, 979 King's Road, Quarry Bay, on Swire Properties' Taikoo Place estate. The floor is about 24,000 square feet.

One Taikoo Place opened in 2018 and is 48 storeys. It holds 41 office floors from 5/F to 47/F and about a million square feet in total. Swire calls it triple Grade A. Typical floors are 21,000 square feet, column free, with three metres of headroom and about 90 per cent of the area usable. Twenty passenger lifts run in a rear core, with two service lifts, and there are two basement car park floors. It was the first building in Hong Kong to hold Platinum ratings from WELL, BEAM Plus and LEED at once.

Your neighbours in the tower are Baker McKenzie, Kering, Ernst & Young, Facebook and Royal Bank of Canada. There is a coffee lounge in the lobby.

Quarry Bay MTR Exit A is six minutes away along air conditioned walkways, so the whole trip is covered. The building sits in landscaped gardens with water features, a podium garden with outdoor seating and alfresco dining. Cityplaza and its supermarket are one MTR stop east at Tai Koo.

What The Spaces Are Like

The centre has a high ceilinged lounge styled like a hotel arrival, with soft seating, warm materials and curated art. Private offices sit behind it, from rooms for two to rooms for twenty five or more, with far reaching views from a high floor. Meeting rooms come in several sizes and hold up to 25 guests, and there is a proper event space.

Industrious is very good at providing:

**Food and drink that is actually staffed.** Breakfast every morning, bottomless craft coffee, tea and sparkling water, snacks through the day and weekly happy hours. You can bring a client in without organising catering.

**Meeting rooms that carry a real meeting.** Up to 25 guests, booked by the hour or the day, with coffee, refreshments and audio visual support brought in by the on site team.

**A membership that travels.** The same card works across the wider network of 250 or so locations, which suits a team that flies to Singapore or Tokyo every month.

What Industrious Costs

A seat in a private office is HK$7,500 a month at One Taikoo Place, and a room for four is HK$30,000 a month. Coworking space is sold on the same floor at HK$3,550 per person per month, and the lounge, the breakfast and the coffee come with it.

The minimum term is three months, rather than the three year lease a conventional office needs. The deposit is two months and the notice period is three months.

Who Industrious Suits

Industrious suits companies that want to receive clients in a hotel grade office on a high floor. Quarry Bay is a longer trip than Central for clients based there.

That covers a lot of people: regional headquarters, professional firms and funds. It also covers any team of two to twenty five who would rather pay for the service than run the office. Consultants take single seats on the same floor.

It also suits companies whose week has clients in it. The lounge, the staffed drinks and the meeting rooms are the product on Level 23.
