About Spaces
Who Spaces Are
Spaces opened in Amsterdam in 2006, as that city's first coworking space. Martijn Roordink founded it with the aim of a club feel rather than a corridor of rooms.
Spaces is now one of the brands of International Workplace Group. IWG says Spaces has more than 400 locations around the world. Seven of them are in Hong Kong.
For a tenant, that means the interior is the product. You are renting a designed floor with a service behind it, and the same standard applies in Amsterdam, London or Kwun Tong.
Where They Are In Hong Kong
Seven buildings across six districts: Central, Sheung Wan, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Kwun Tong and Wong Chuk Hang.
Four sit on Hong Kong Island. LKF Tower is at 33 Wyndham Street, seven minutes uphill from Central station, next to Lan Kwai Fong. Sun House is a refurbished building of 21 storeys at 181 Des Voeux Road Central, four minutes from Sheung Wan station, with a coffee lounge in the lobby. Lee Garden Three is at 1 Sunning Road, two minutes from Causeway Bay station, and Spaces has the fourth, fifth and sixth floors.
In Wan Chai, Spaces has the whole of 8 Queen's Road East, all eighteen floors of it. That is 67,000 square feet, opposite 3 Pacific Place and five minutes' walk from Admiralty station.
South of the harbour, AXA Southside is a Grade A tower of 28 storeys at 38 Wong Chuk Hang Road. It is three minutes from Wong Chuk Hang station Exit B. Spaces has two floors at the base and three near the top, with an outdoor terrace and parking.
Both Kowloon centres are in Kwun Tong, near the water. 133 Wai Yip Street is three minutes from Ngau Tau Kok station. Spaces has the top two floors, a penthouse mezzanine and the roof, with a terrace facing Victoria Harbour. Two Sky Parc is a Grade A building of 33 storeys at 51 Hung To Road, refurbished in 2020, with six passenger lifts. Spaces has the twelfth and fifteenth floors, eight minutes from Kwun Tong station.
What The Spaces Are Like
Each centre has a light, open floor with timber, soft furnishing, art and natural light. Glass-fronted private offices run around the edge.
Every centre has a staffed reception, a business club, a coffee bar with a barista, meeting rooms and phone booths. Furniture, wifi, utilities, cleaning, refreshments and admin support are in the rent. So is the events programme: networking, wellness, yoga and boxing.
Spaces is very good at three things:
**One designer, in every country.** The interiors are the work of Sevil Peach, the London architect behind the original Amsterdam centres. IWG kept her rather than copying anyone else. The look is European and consistent, so a Spaces floor looks the same in any city.
**A business club you can work in all day.** The club is the centre of the floor, with the coffee bar in it, and every member can use it. Short informal meetings happen there, so you are not booking a meeting room every time someone drops in.
**Whole buildings, so you can grow without moving.** 8 Queen's Road East is a Spaces centre from top to bottom: over 900 workstations, 70 private offices and five floors of enterprise suites. AXA Southside spreads over five floors. If your team doubles, you take more space in the same building instead of moving address.

Who Spaces Suits
Spaces suits teams who care what the office looks like. The seven buildings are very different from each other.
The range is wide. Startups, design and marketing agencies, technology teams, professional practices, and large companies opening a satellite office away from head office. What they share is wanting a designed floor with reception, coffee and meeting rooms already running.
It also suits companies that want a good interior outside the traditional business district. Two of the seven centres are in Kwun Tong and one is in Wong Chuk Hang. Spaces is the IWG brand that opens in those districts, and the design standard stays the same there.
