Yu Yuet Lai Building is a small building at 43-55 Wyndham Street, in upper Central. It has 12 storeys, was finished in 1980 and has a single landlord. Tai Kwun and PMQ, the two heritage compounds turned over to art, design and restaurants, are both close by, and the SoHo streets are just above.
Central station is 590 metres off, a seven minute climb, for the Island and Tsuen Wan lines. For the Airport Express and the Tung Chung line, Hong Kong station is 690 metres and nine minutes.
WYND holds the 10th floor, near the top of the building. It runs as a creative space rather than a corporate one, with a lounge, an outdoor terrace, balconies on some of the private rooms and Herman Miller task chairs. Rooms take one person to more than twenty. A room for one is HK$4,030 a month, a room for two is 200 sq ft at HK$8,060, and a seat in the shared area is HK$3,150. The terms are different from most serviced floors: a seven month minimum on a lease, a five month deposit and three months' notice, with the rooms furnished. WYND also holds a Trust or Company Service Provider licence, so it can act as company secretary and set a company up for a member itself.
The lease terms are heavier than most Central centres ask: a longer minimum stay and a larger deposit up front.
The walk from Central station is uphill and uncovered.
If those terms do not suit, HQ at Wilson House further down Wyndham Street runs on three months and two.
